ON 8 AUGUST 1832 OR 1833, SON * ALVIN M. COLLINS WAS BORN, IN PA.

HE GREW UP TO MARRY LYDIA LNU OF OH.

BY 1861 ALVIN AND LYDIA LIVED IN MANKATO MN WHERE DAUGHTER * EVALETT E. WAS BORN ON 17 FEB, 1861.

IN 1862 ALVIN JOINED THE MANKATO CITIZEN SOLDIERS, AND LATER MUSTERED WITH THE UNION ARMY, A 1ST LT. DURING THE SIOUX INDIAN UPRISING OF 1862. HE WAS A CARPENTER AND IN CHARGE OF BUILDING A SCAFFOLD TO HANG NATIVE AMERICANS CONVICTED OF MASSACRE. THEIR WERE MANY WRONGS ON BOTH SIDES. THERE IS A PHOTOGRAPH OF THE SCENE IN THE MINNESOTA HISTORICAL SOCIETY MUSEUM, INCLUDING THE SCAFFOLD. ON THE NET THE PHOTO MAY BE SEEN WITH A SEARCH FOR "DAKOTA TRIALS"

BY 1863 ALVIN WAS IN WI AND HE AND LYDIA HAD TWIN DAUGHTERS, FRANCIS AND FLORA.

IN 1869 OR 1870 THE FAMILY HEADED FOR OREGON BY WAGON. EVALET, AT 9 YEARS OLD OR SO REMEMBERED IT AS A VERY LONG, DUSTY, AND TIRING TRIP FULL OF FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN, YET A BIG ADVENTURE.

THE FAMILY SETTLED IN THE WILLAMETTE VALLEY, HILLSBORO, WASHINGTON CO. OR, WHERE THEY ARE FOUND IN THE 1880 CENSUS, THE 1890 VETERAN'S SCHEDULE, AND THE 1900 CENSUS.
IN 1880, ON THE 26 OF DECEMBER, EVALETT COLLINS, AGE 19 MARRIED MARK HOFFMAN, AGE 26. THE WEDDING WAS HELD AT HER FATHER'S HOME AND THE MINISTER WAS JA CAMPBELL, WITNESSES W.D. PITTINGER AND RUDOLPH CRANDALL, WHO WAS THE COLLINS' NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR.

THE TWINS MARRIED MEN NAMED RASSMUSIN AND MCGRUDER.

MARK HOFFMAN PASSED AWAY AND EVALETT REMARRIED * ED WILLIAMS, A FRIEND OF HER FATHER.
THEY HAD THE FOLLOWING CHILDREN:

ALVA, CALLED OBBIE BORN: JAN. 1887
CONRAD, CALLED CONNIE BORN: DEC. 1890

* MARGARET ANGELINE, CALLED ANGIE BORN: OCT. 1899
PHILLIP VERNON, CALLED VERN BORN: ABT 1900
LYDIA COLLINS PASSED AWAY SOMETIME BEFORE 1917

ALVIN COLLINS WAS A MILLWRIGHT AND CARPENTER. HE DIED ON OCT. 1, 1917, AND IS BURIED IN HILLSBORO OR. CERT.# 151. HIS DAUGHTER, F. RASSMUSIN WAS THE INFORMANT.

THE WILLIAMS FAMILY MOVED TO PACIFIC COUNTY, RAYMOND, WA
EVALETT DIED THERE IN 1943 AND IS BURIED IN FERNHILL CEMETARY,NEAR MENLO, WA, BLK 4 LOT 709, S 1/2 OF SW 1/4, 2ND ADDITION.
MARGARET ANGELINE MARRIED * JAMES EARL LONG IN 1925. JAMIE DIED IN 1930 OF APPENDICITIS, LEAVING 2 DAUGHTERS, MARGARET SHIRLEY AND * EVALETT INA. HE IS BURIED IN FERNHILL CEMETARY.

MARGARET SHIRLEY MARRIED A LUNSFORD AND A DINSMORE.
EVALETT INA MARRIED A * REDWINE AND A COATS.

MARGARET SHIRLEY AND EVALETT INA ARE BURIED IN FERNHILL CEMETARY.

MARGARET SHIRLEY HAD 5 CHILDREN, ALL LIVING.
EVALETT INA HAD 7 CHILDREN, ALL LIVING EXCEPT ONE, * NOVELLA JOYCE, WHO PASSED AWAY IN 1999.NOVELLA WAS CREMATED AND HER ASHES SPREAD ON THE NEWAUKUM RIVER IN WA.
