Zefferelli's "Romeo and Juliet" was a classic movie, which was interpreted from William Shakespeare's famous tragedy. Leonard Whiting and Olivia Hussey were able to "live" in their characters. Although Olivia was quite young when she played Juliet ( only 17); she was wonderful! Leonard was a handsome Romeo. If you didn't see the movie yet,I encorage you to rent it or maybe buy it, because it definitely worth it. And of course,I encorage you to read the play.I hope that you enjoy the book as much as I did.
Now, a few words about Jane Grey. Jane Grey was the youngest queen of England so far. She was the queen for 9 days, until Mary came back to England. Jane had to marry Gildfort Dudley because of her mother's (Frances) and father's will. Jane hated Gildford in the beginning of their marriage, but in a while , she got used to him, and accepted the reality as it was.
When Mary came back to England, Jane was considered "a liar and a traitor". Her father went to "help" Jane and bring her back to the throne, but that was a dramatic mistake that made things change for the worse. This mistake led to his execution, his daughter's execution as well as her husband's. She barely turned 16, I believe, when she was beheaded. That tragically ended her life.
You can also rent the movie "Jane Grey of nine days" with Helena Boham Carter as Jane. The movie was great and I hope that you will see it.
